Sponsor a Child

Sponsor With Student At The School of Hope in Guatemala

Student sponsorship is the life-force which powers our work; from purchasing books and equipment, paying teachers' salaries to providing nutritious meals each day. EFTC’s School of Hope and our further education program do not receive any government funding.

Monthly sponsorship supports an individual child’s educational, hygiene, nutritional and psychological needs. We offer different levels of sponsorship to suit all budgets. From a five year old ‘Prepa’ just starting out, to a high schooler hoping to be the first in their family to ever attend university—you could support a student at any stage in their journey.

What does it mean to sponsor a child?

Whichever sponsorship level you choose, we provide written or video updates. Should you wish, can also send messages, videos or even visit Guatemala to meet your student and their family in person. If you have a family of your own, sponsorship is a great way to introduce your children to a different culture, language and the life-changing power of giving.

We know how busy life is, so if you'd prefer not to receive updates, there’s also the option to contribute monthly without being allocated a student.

I was fortunate enough to visit this school on a trip to Guatemala pre-pandemic. Totally fell in love with it and have sponsored two students (one at a time). It’s one of my favorite things I’ve done. You get letters and photos of and from your student and the sponsor coordinator is fantastic at keeping you up to date. I can’t think of a better way to spend some money on something meaningful and cool!
