Artisanal Bag Workshop at the school, thanks to the support of Project Apoyo

๐ŸŽ‰ We are excited to tell you about our artisanal bag-making workshop at the school, made possible by support from Project Apoyo ๐Ÿ’ผโœจ

๐ŸŽจ We aim to train all partaking students to become experts in crafting handmade bags, allowing them to turn this skill into a source of extra income! Additionally, we encourage students to start their own small businesses. The course lasts 3 months, from January to April, with classes being held twice a week.

๐Ÿ” What is being taught to our students?

  • They will learn how to make multiple kinds of bags.

  • They will master different techniques and materials for the creation of bags.

  • They will learn about the cost of materials and how to calculate the selling price, thus maximising their profits!

๐ŸŽฏ What are the main aims of this workshop?

  • Securing stable employment ๐Ÿ’ผ

  • Providing new learning opportunities ๐Ÿ“š

  • Fostering economic autonomy ๐Ÿ’ธ

  • Motivating our students to become entrepreneurs ๐Ÿš€

Excitingly, our workshop is being led by Mercedes, an student in our scholarship programme, who successfully completed the artisanal bag-making course in the past. Mercedes is an inspiring example of how access to these learning opportunities can transform lives. Now, she is sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of artisans.

We are delighted to have 10 enthusiastic students, including 2 stay-at-home moms and 8 scholarship students! ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“š We are confident that together they will create amazing things!

This course is made possible thanks to support from Project Apoyo! ๐Ÿ™Œ This year, Project Apoyo has offered to fund all of the entrepreneurship courses being held at the school. We could not be more grateful for the ceaseless support they have shown our students.

Stay tuned for updates on this workshop, and others yet to come! ๐ŸŒŸ
