Social Support Programme
'My favourite part about school is having books and crayons and that my sister and brother are there. And that people listen to me like Michelle (our school psychologist) even when I am in trouble. 'Jose - 3rd Grade
At The School of Hope the needs of our students are myriad and complex and social support is key to unlocking the path to empowerment. For primary and middle school students learning important life-skills is as essential as academic study. We also equip student's families with parenting and conflict resolution skills. Our school psychologist works one-to-one with students who have had exposure to physical or psychological violence.
Through workshops with horses, led by our local partner organisation Lead-Up, we seek to reduce violence and other behavioural issues. Students are welcomed into a compassionate and non-judgmental environment and discover non-violence and non-aggression for themselves.
For students in our further education programme, the social support offering is even more extensive, including dedicated careers guidance, psychological support, life skills workshops, and access to job fairs and work experience placements.
