”“I love my job because I get to care for people in pain, sometimes physical, other times emotional, and all they need is to be listened to.” Celena Godinez - School Nurse
Our integrated healthcare programme includes regular health checks by our school nurse, Celena Godinez who is one of the first graduates from the EFTC Further Education Programme. The healthcare department has previously identified cases of malnutrition, domestic abuse, drug use and eating disorders and is vital to ensuring our students are safe, happy and healthy.
Celena works closely with our social support team on the Preventative Health Programme including workshops on sexual health, violent behaviour and personal hygiene for both students and their families.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently supplying all of our families with monthly essential medicines, hygiene items and Covid-19 information leaflets. This includes life-saving medicines for 15 chronic long-term medical cases managed by the department.
