Volunteer Programme

"Volunteering makes you feel good.

It resets your moral compass and it makes you stand

up a couple of inches taller when you walk down the

street."

Description of Volunteer Positions

Volunteers generally help in the classrooms as assistant teachers.  If a volunteer specialises in a certain skill, they are encouraged to use that skill.  Volunteers can choose to work in our primary school, Escuela Proyecto La Esperanza or our secondary

school, Escuela Proyecto La Esperanza - Nivel Basico.

Volunteers are also able to help in the office, in the

kitchen, teach English and organise extra recreational activities for the children as well as help children with their homework.

Volunteer Schedule

Primary School

8.00am - 12.30pm & 2.00pm - 4.30pm (Monday to Friday)

Secondary School

8.00am - 1.00pm (Monday to Friday)

The school is often organising different activities for the schools and the children often participate in extracurricular activities so it is important to be as flexible as you can.

Schedules are very flexible and volunteers may decide the times they wish to work upon arrival.

Additional Arrangements

The foundation are happy to assist in any travel plans or organising your stay in Guatemala.  For a $25 donation to the school, we are able to arrange accomodation, transport to and from the airport, Spanish classes with a local Spanish School and assist in any travel plans within Guatemala.  (All of these will of course incur charges payable locally).
