EFTC’s Scholarship Programme enables students to progress through college and university, providing them with an even brighter start to their future.
The National Institute of Statistics in Guatemala showed that only 17% of students continued on to college after leaving school in 2009. The young people in our schools come from homes where they have no running water or electricity, and where their parents did not even complete primary school. Our Scholarship Programme will strengthen their ability to gain employment and change their lives for the better.
We are currently looking to businesses to sponsor a student through their higher education. We are looking to Business Accountants to sponsor students studying Accountancy and so on. It is an opportunity for businesses to show that they truly value Corporate Social Responsibility, and to give our children a much better start in life.
Our students study at college for three years and university for six years. The average cost of providing education for a student on our programme is £600 per year. This covers courses such as Accountancy or teaching. For exceptional courses such as Medicine or Architecture, the costs will be higher but will make an extra special difference to an academically promising student.
We aim to ensure every one of our young people has the opportunity to continue on to higher education through our Scholarship Programme. We need the support and generosity of businesses to make this happen. If you would like to help our Scholarship Programme please do not hesitate to get in touch.
