We opened our safehouse in October 2008 after encountering numerous children in desperate need of a safe and secure environment.

The-Safe-House

The safe house is currently home to 7 children.

The total cost of the building was just over £30,000; a small price to pay to create a safe home for these deserving children.

The house has big open rooms, is safe and secure and is run by a wonderful Mum; Yessenia.

The children who are now residents come from a range of backgrounds but in each case we felt that we had to step in and help.  Since the Safehouse opened, 15 children have lived in it's warm and welcoming walls.  Although we were incredibly sad to see some of the children leave, the Safehouse had fulfilled its purpose and had provided a home for children when they had nowhere else to go.

Health Reasons

Cristian was diagnosed with leukaemia last year. His condition means that he is prone to infections.  The house where he previously lived had a mud floor and tin walls and was no place for a sick child to recover.  Cristian, his siblings and his Mum Yessenia became the initial residents of the safe house.

Orphans

A family of three siblings, and a single girl lost their parents under extremely tragic circumstances.

Abuse

One young girl was repeatedly abused by her stepfather.  She is now safe from harm and living under our roof.

Desertion

A family of five siblings ages between 6 and 17 were abandoned by their only parent before Christmas 2008.  We are pleased to say that these five children have now been reunited with their grandparents and are no longer staying in our safe house.

We are extremely pleased with the final results of the safe house and we hope that it will be a safe and loving haven for our children for years to come.
