Brenda Fabiola was crowned "Miss Esperanza" in our High School in Septmeber 2008. She was 15 years old at the time of writing this.
"For me it is a great honour to represent the Foundation. It has been very difficult to get where I am now. I feel
proud to be studying here, I give thanks to God for letting me be here.
The teachers told us that we had to choose two girls from each grade to be put forward for the Miss Esperanza competition. My class mates chose me.
I think I get on well with the other students; not just in my class but in the whole school. In the end I won with 37 votes I think - so I had votes from other grades. It makes me feel proud to know that I get on well with most of the students in the school.
I still have one more year until I finish the third year of Basico High School. After that I will choose my career- perhaps I will study computing or learn to be a secretary. I want to get my diploma and then get my own job and then one day have a family.
The Foundation has helped me a lot. Three years ago I joined in the sixth grade of Primary School. My parents couldn't pay for my schooling and so it was like a present from God to end up in the Foundation. If that hadn't happened I would probably be working now and my dreams would never come true.
