The Christmas Gifts Campaign that really made a difference

Our 2008 Christmas Gifts Campaign was a

success and brought in a grand total of £3797!

Christmas Hampers

The most popular item was the Christmas Hamper- we were given money to buy 58 Christmas Hampers for the poorest of Guatemalan families involved in our project. On Christmas Eve, the chosen families came down to the school and collected hampers which were full to the brim of nutritious food and supplies. We were thrilled with the results of the hamper initiative in particular, and we hope to do the same next year.

And then there were the chickens...

We were given money to buy 31 chickens! The chickens were really popular gifts this Christmas and were given out to families on December 23rd in time for Christmas... photos are below!! This is the first time we've helped families by providing livestock; we will monitor how well the initiative has worked over the coming months but we hope that our families will soon have a good supply of eggs from healthy

chickens.

Safe, clean water for 2009

We sold 32 water filters which was a brilliant result. We have so far raised enough money to buy 90 water filters- many of these have already been given out and we will continue to give them out through 2009. This will undoubtedly make a massive impact on the quality of life of our families- we've monitored their use over the past few months and they have been a resounding success.

More positive festive results

We were also delighted to receive money to pay the

rent at our school, to buy hundreds of socks for the

children, and to pay for dozens of text books. We

were also really grateful to receive the money that is

always needed to feed the school on a day to day

basis.

We'd like to give a special thank you to Adam Tudor who designed the beautiful catalogue for us. Please take a look at his website: www.bigpencil.co.uk

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this campaign!

We hope your loved ones were happy with their cards, photos and certificates.

This year, their presents really did make a difference.
