2008The Blue Room- Man City Football ClubOn Thursday 20th November we held our most glamourous of events in Manchester with Shaun Wright-Phillips. Shaun and his family made sure that the event was really special and the auction items were unbelievable! The guests included Micah Richards, Titus Bramble, Andy Cole, Vincent Kompany, Andy Griffin, Michael Thomas, Brian Kidd, Gary Owen and DJ Spoony among numerous other stars from television and radio. We made an amazing £20,000 to go towards our New School fund! Hilton Hotel Dinner DanceOn Friday 14th November we held our annual dinner dance at the East Midlands Hilton Hotel. Over 200 guests came to enjoy the evening- many of which are sponsors and long term supporters of EFTC. Tommy Johnson hosted the evening and made sure it was one to be remembered- despite the flow of wine and champagne! It was a fantastic night, and despite fears that the credit crunch will seriously affect the charity, we raised a huge £15,000- more than we have ever raised here before. We love this event and can't wait to do it all again next year. Shaun Wright-Phillips' Harley Davidson Bike RideOn Sunday 10th August 2008 Shaun Wright-Phillips completed his second annual Harley Davidson celebrity charity bike ride. Beeston Fields Golf DayOn 13th June 2008 Tommy Johnson hosted our annual Golf Event at Beeston Fields in Nottingham. The event was attended by footballer Rob Jones and golf pro Mark Foster as well as many of our loyal local supporters. We raised in the region of £6,000 and we would like to thank all the teams for their continued support.
The Sports Ball, DublinOn 19th April 2008 we held our second annual Sports Ball at the Mansion House in Dublin. Shaun Wright-Phillips along with past soccer legends from Celtic and Liverpool attended the evening among numerous local celebrities. A great night was had by all and a total of £33,000 was raised.
2007Nottingham Gala DinnerOn 16th November 2007 we held our annual UK gala dinner. The evening was again a huge success and special thanks go to Tommy Johnson and the Hilton East Midlands Hotel, total raised on the evening was £9,843.94.
Flawless & CoOn 8th November 2007, Shaun Wright-Phillips alongside Dionne Wright and Lynne Domingue organised a spectacular evening at Flawless & Co in New Bond Street, London. The evening was hosted by Willie Thorne and several of the Chelsea players attended as well as other celebrities. The evening raised a massive £34,383 and special thanks go to Shaun, Dionne and Lynne for all their hard work and everyone at Flawless & Co. Harley Bike RideOn Sunday 26th August 2007, Shaun Wright-Phillips along with Wayne Bridge, Mark Bright, Mitchell Thomas and some other friends set off from London to Brighton and then Brighton to Southampton all riding Harley Davidson bikes in order to raise some money and awareness for Education For The Children.
We would like to thank everyone for a great day out and for raising a substantial amount of money for the Education for the Children and a special thanks to Dionne and Lynne for organising the day. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Harley Davidson who donated a bike for us to auction at one of our charity events. Most of the teams managed to get round without getting too wet!! A total of £6,167.23 was raised. Special thanks go to Tommy Johnson, everyone who donated auction prizes and of course all the teams that took part on a very wet day!
Our first Dublin BallOn April 1st 2007 we held our first black tie ball at the exclusive Mansion House in Dublin. Past and present Celtic Football Club teams attended along with a star studded guest list from sport, entertainment and business in Ireland. The evening was a huge success and we managed to raise a staggering €37,974.31, the most we have made at an event so far.
Special thanks go to Tommy Johnson, Neil Lennon and the rest of the Celtic boys, David O'Leary, Neill Hughes, Micky McElligott and James Byrne of Mere Capital and Eimear Gannon of the Mansion House for their fantastic help and support. Private Screening LondonIn February 2007, we hosted a black tie private screening of the new film Goal II at the Soho Hotel, London. 100 people attended the evening. An auction and a sponsor appeal raised just over £12,000.00. Special thanks go to Scion Financial Partners Ltd for the organisation, Kingsbridge Asset Management Ltd, John Charcol Associates and Investment Company 7IM for their sponsorship and Danny Murphy, Rio Ferdinand and Simon Holdsworth for their help with the auction. |
